Craft activities are great for relaxation and mental health. This class is hands-on, sometimes messy but always aiming to develop mental and social wellbeing, and build confidence.

You will be taught a range of practical skills and methods by our expert tutor in our bespoke pottery studio.

This course is especially for people who feel that taking time to be creative can help boost their wellbeing. It’s designed to support anyone who may be experiencing feelings of stress, low mood, social isolation, or simply wants to use craft to look after their mental health and connect with others in a supportive environment.
You will learn a variety of pottery skills, create your own pottery pieces, and take home your pieces at the end of the course.
The ability to understand verbal instructions

Please bring an apron or an old shirt. Pottery can get messy, but it will wash off. A sketchbook is useful but not essential. Tools are provided but some students prefer to use their own.

As this is a fully funded course, we do ask learners to let us know how the course will help them and to confirm that it will support their personal wellbeing. This helps us make sure that these places go to those who will benefit most.

For your Course Approval session, you need to:

  • Bring accepted ID in the form of either a UK passport or printout of your e-visa showing residency status
  • Bring proof of benefit dated within the last 3 months or most recent payslip /tax return if claiming the concessionary fee
  • Ensure you meet all previous educational requirements to attend this course
  • Bring copies of previous exam certificates
