This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.
This is a live online course using the platform Google Classroom.
You will need:
* A good internet connection.The classes work best with Chrome.
* A computer with a microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook).
* Earphones/headphones/speakers.
We will contact you with joining instructions before your course starts.

Preparing to Work in Schools Level 1 Award is suitable for anyone who is thinking of working in a school setting. By the end of the programme you will:
* Understand schools as organisations
* Understand how to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well
* Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adults
You will be required to produce a portfolio which contains completed tasks with ongoing feedback provided by the tutor.
Your tutor will give you more information about the course in your first session.
Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor

This is a Level 1 course.
You will need to be working at Level 1 in your English skills to access the learning and produce the assignments required.
If you do not achieve Level 1 in your English Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Entry Level 3 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard.
