Looking to get into the hairdressing industry? This course will give you the skills needed to provide cutting and styling services and could be your first step towards running your own business.

This Level 2 certificate for cutting and styling women’s hair aims to provide you with a range of essential technical and practical skills. These include carrying out services such as: shampooing, conditioning, styling, finishing and setting hair, cutting, plaiting and twisting the hair.
These skills will give you what you need to pursue further training or employment as a junior stylist providing cutting and styling services within the hairdressing industry.
Following successful completion of this qualification you will be able to work in a number of employment destinations such as: hairdressing salons, hotels or cruise ships.
This qualification covers a wide range of practical skills and knowledge required for working as a junior stylist providing cutting and styling services. You will study the following mandatory content:

* Cut hair using hairdressing techniques
* The art of dressing hair
* Client consultation for hair services
* Follow health and safety practice in the salon
* Working in the hair industry
* Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp


You will also be required to study additional units in order to meet the requirements of the qualification.

Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.
This is a Level 2 course.

You will need to be working at Level 2 in your English skills to access the learning and complete the assessment tasks required.

If you do not achieve Level 2 in your English Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Level 1 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.

This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard. This course also requires home study and research skills. You must have sufficient time at home that you can set aside to do homework, revision and practice.

Please note: You will be expected to work on your classmates to practise and perform your practical treatments. This course is open to males and females.

  • Bring copies of previous exam certificates
