Take steps into a career in floristry or simply start or develop an existing hobby.
During this short course you will gain the practical skills needed to create beautiful designs using fresh botanical materials.
Following this course you can book on to the Level 1 Award in Floral Design (NCFE) before progressing to higher levels if you so choose.
Either way, you are guaranteed to have fun with flowers and develop a range of skills that you can add to over your floristry career.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have already completed a Creative Craft qualification at this level you cannot be funded again regardless of the subject you intend to learn

The course will cover a wide range of underpinning knowledge including:
* Botanical plant names
* Conditioning methods
* Design principles for different floral designs of increasing complexity
* Selecting from chosen materials to create crafted floral designs
* Working safely and effectively with materials, tools and equipment
Learning Aim: Z0060110 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.

This is an Entry Level course.
You will need to be working at Entry Level 3 in your English skills to access the learning and complete the assessment tasks required.
If you do not achieve Entry Level 3 in your English Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Entry Level 2 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard including a workbook demonstrating what you have learned and the costing of your designs.

Please bring a pen, pencil and paper to your class. Ensure you are wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear for a practical craft course.
