Entrepreneurs – Start up your business

Over five full days (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM) at Sutton College, you will cover all critical aspects of running a successful enterprise:

* Legal Structures: Learn how to officially structure your business and navigate the crucial first steps, including the essential requirement to register as self employed with HMRC.
* Financial Literacy: Demystifying business finance. Gain clear, actionable knowledge on managing your money, understanding Income Tax, and when and how to handle VAT (Value Added Tax).
* Mastering Marketing: Discover proven strategies to reach your ideal customers, build a strong brand presence, and drive sales from day one.
* Business Planning & Strategy: Develop a robust, workable business plan that ensures long term viability and growth.

Eligibility Requirements (Strictly Enforced)

Due to the funding structure of this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
You must currently be economically inactive (ie. not in employment and have not been seeking work).
Be eligible to work in the UK.
You must be a resident living in a London borough.
You must have the language skills to be able to follow the course.
You must not be on a DWP funded programme eg. Restart, Connect to Work.

You will need to attend a course approval session at Sutton College. Once you have registered your interest you will be contacted to book on to one of these sessions and complete the online pre-enrolment form. The available dates are:
Monday 8th June 11:00 - 13:00
Tuesday 16th June 14:00 - 16:00

Additional information:
Every participant who successfully completes the course and registers as self employed with HMRC will be eligible to claim up to £500 towards essential equipment needed for your new business start up! This removes a major financial barrier, allowing you to invest directly in the tools you need to succeed.
All participants are required to sign up to the Step Ahead Economically Inactive Trailblazer funded programme in order to attend this course.

Mandatory Outcome
