Ikebana is the centuries-old Japanese art of arranging flowers. This practice, roughly translated to “making flowers come alive,” uses specially selected blossoms, foliage and other flora to convey a specific feeling or emotion, similar to a painting or sculpture.
Extend your floral design experience and come and join us in this workshop where less is more, design skills will be the focus and you will leave with something special.
All plant material and sundries are included in this course.

You will gain an understanding of the principles of Ikebana, know how to choose the right containers and plant materials, learn how to use the elements and principles of design in this less known discipline of floristry.
This course is suitable for all abilities/complete beginners. No previous experience with flower arranging or art is required. Learners simply need a willingness to explore and enjoy a calm, creative activity. Basic English skills are essential to follow instructions and participate in group discussion, but no specialist (Ikebana) knowledge is needed.

All flower materials will be provided, as well as vase/container.
You should bring:
An apron
A small towel
Floristry scissors/secateurs
Wear sensible closed toed shoes
