This course is designed for anyone who is seeking to increase their knowledge of end of life care in a vocational setting.
It is aimed at those working in the healthcare sector whose job description includes caring for those who have a life-limiting illness. It is also appropriate for those who have already achieved other sector-specific qualifications in the healthcare sector who need to apply their understanding in a palliative care context.

In this course you will develop a deepened understanding of the principles of end of life care. You will complete the following mandatory units:
* Understanding end of life care
* Communication during end of life care
* Assessment and care planning in end of life care
* Person-centred approaches to end of life care
* Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care
You will be required to produce a portfolio which contains completed tasks with ongoing feedback provided by the tutor.
Your tutor will give you more information about the course in your first session.
Learning Aim: Z0011145 - This course will also include guidance on using Google Classroom as part of your learning experience. You will learn how to access course information, communicate and collaborate with fellow learners, submit assignments, and receive feedback from your tutor.

You will need to be working at GCSE English Grade 3 as a minimum to access the learning and produce the assignments required.
If you do not achieve English Grade 3 in your GCSE Skills Builder Assessment you must have a UK English Level 2 qualification or above. You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard.
PLEASE NOTE: Concession rates may be available to those aged 19+ who do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or have a full Level 3 qualification but are unemployed or are employed but earn below the national living wage.
If you fall outside these criteria, you can either pay the full fee or apply for an advanced learner loan. A discount will be applied to the Standard fee for those learners who take out an Advanced Learner Loan. Please contact our Enrolments & Customer Services Team for further information.
