Aged 19 or over? Discover a new and easy way to pay your course fees
The Advanced Learner Loan aims to help take the financial stress away from study by allowing those aged 19 and over to apply for a loan to cover the tuition fee.
Any UK resident aged 19 or over who enrols with us onto an eligible level 3 or higher course, can apply for a Government funded loan to pay for the tuition fee. This will be paid directly to the College on your behalf via the Student Loans Company.
The Advanced Learner Loans will see adults being able to access funds to support learning for the first time. The Government has introduced the loan to provide a means for anyone over the age of 19 to be able to study and improve their qualifications and therefore improve job and life prospects. This means that adults will not have to pay the course fee upfront. There may still be some charges for registration with awarding bodies, exam fees and materials that will need to be paid.
These loans will give learners in further education access to financial support for tuition costs, similar to that which is available in Higher Education. This means rather than an individual having to pay for their course upfront they have the option of accessing a loan, from the Student Loans Company, that they will only start to repay once they have left the course and are earning over £25,000. The loans are not means tested or subject to credit checks and are available irrespective of the learner’s current employment status.
Applying for these loans is very easy with a simple application form online.
Learners aged 19 and over will therefore have the option to either:
