If you are studying a course that has an exam or your course is portfolio based, normally the cost of the exam or exam board registration will be included in the cost of your course. For the few that are not, the cost of the exam will be stated in the course details.
To be entered for an exam or to be registered with the exam board, the exams department will give your tutor an exam entry form which you must complete and return to the exams department by the closing date stated on the form.
If you have a learning difficulty or a disability or feel that you work slower than others in your class, you may need access arrangements for your assessments and examinations, such as extra time or rest breaks, to complete your work. If this is the case please inform your tutor and s/he will fill in the Student Support Referral form (SSR) for you. You will also need to produce medical evidence for a medical condition/disability or be tested by the College if you have slow processing or a specific learning difficulty like dyslexia.
For termly courses you will sit your exams at the end of term. For all book keeping courses your exam will be the week following your last lesson, on the same day and time of your class. For computerised accounts your exam will take place during your last lesson. For all other exams, if you wish to know the exam dates before you start your course, please contact the exams department on 020 8405 7011, or email email@example.com. Your tutor should also be able to give you the dates.
Most exams will take place at the Sutton centre, and the exams department will always send you a letter to confirm your exam details.
The exams department is experienced in helping students successfully achieve and relies on you providing information and identifying any problems as soon as possible so arrangements can be made where necessary.
