Sutton College Courses

If you are studying a course that has an exam or if your course is portfolio based, the cost of the exam or exam board registration will be included in the cost of your course.  Please note that if you need to re-sit an exam, the College will charge a fee for this. Please contact the Exams Department if this is applicable to you.

To be entered for an exam or to be registered with the exam board, the exams department will give your tutor an exam entry form which you must check and sign and your tutor will return it to the Exams Department.  All exams will take place at the Sutton centre. The Exams Department will always send you a letter or email to confirm your exam details

If you have a learning difficulty or a disability or feel that you work slower than others in your class, you may need access arrangements for your assessments and examinations, such as extra time or rest breaks, to complete your work. If this is the case please inform your tutor as soon as you start your course and s/he will refer you to the Learning Support Manager. You will also need to produce medical evidence for a medical condition/disability, or be assessed by the College if you have slow processing or a specific learning difficulty like dyslexia.

The Exams Department is experienced in helping students who may need Access Arrangements for their exams. We rely on you providing information and identifying any problems as soon as possible so arrangements can be made where necessary.

If you wish to know the exam dates before you start your course, please contact the Exams Department on 020 8 405 7010/11, or email exams@suttoncollege.ac.uk. Your tutor should also be able to give you the dates.

PRIVATE CANDIDATES FOR EXAMS AT SUTTON COLLEGE

Sutton College is no longer able to accept applications from private candidates for Functional Skills, GCSE and A level exams. This is due to the changes in the JCQ regulations, regarding access arrangements for the Summer exams. To ensure compliance with the current JCQ regulations we have to offer access arrangements to candidates requiring them, however as a small centre we do not have the capacity or resources such as additional rooms to facilitate this requirement. Therefore we are not able to offer examinations to any private candidates.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this will cause any private candidates who had planned to use this service with us.
