Computing
The Computing department at Sutton College offers a diverse range of courses for all levels, from total beginners on their first steps to using computers and the internet, to those wanting to develop their Essential Digital skills to enable them to gain a recognisable qualification. These courses are for those with an avid interest, or who are job-seeking and wanting to develop professional employability skills.
We also develop bespoke courses in response to requests from public and private sector business, community groups and individuals. We work closely with the local council and JobCentre Plus to offer courses that enable essential employability and digital skills to be developed, for local people who may currently not be in employment, recently made redundant or taken early retirement, or just wanting to stretch their learning.
Professionally qualified and extremely experienced, Sutton College tutors are highly skilled at supporting, engaging and building confidence for a diverse range of learners to achieve their very best. They also have extensive experience working as professionals within the world of IT Networking, Media and Design, as well as advising companies and individuals. Whether it be 1-1 or small group work, we guarantee you will be able to access all areas of the course.
Our excellent range of facilities runs mainly Windows PCs and has a wide range of software available including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. We have Windows and Apple laptops, iPads and Samsung tablets.
All our courses are set up to give you the opportunity to study at a pace that suits you, as well ensuring that you are fully supported by the College from the moment you enrol online or in our reception, through to your tuition from experts in their field, to progression opportunities onto other courses. All our courses are taught with you in mind and supporting you to either progress to further studies, upskill existing skills/knowledge or purely for personal enjoyment and wellbeing.
Previous learners have progressed onto a wide range of higher education courses and employment opportunities locally, nationally and worldwide! Why not join us for your ‘first steps’ into a new learning experience, and who knows where it might eventually take you.
