Do you want to train for a new career? Are your children now at school? Would you like to train for a job that would fit in with school times? This course is a great introduction for anyone who is interested in a career in childcare or for new parents. This quali?cation develops a basic knowledge of childcare. It covers working with children up to the age of 5 years old, focusing on their growth, learning and development. Taught by industry professionals, this is a great stepping-stone into the rewarding work of childcare.

What will I learn on this course?

The units include subjects such as child development, healthy eating and learning through play. It is suitable for parents and volunteers who would like to play a part in early year’s childcare in preschools or nurseries.

As this is a government-funded course, there is a requirement for some elements of English and maths to be included in the course.

There may be some paired and group work involved in the course.

You will also be asked to do an online English language test for the Course Approval Assessment to assess that you have the appropriate level of English in order to be accepted onto the course.
