This qualification provides you with an extension to the computerised accounting practices learnt at Level 1. The Level 2 Award in Computerised Accounts is ideal for those learners who are seeking an expansive experience in using computerised accounts software. You will increase your skill level and ability, allowing you to use the application independently for routine activities. This is particularly aimed at those who want to enter employment within computerised accounts.

This course also includes the additional qualification - Employability Skills Level 2 Award. This will give increase your general skills for the workplace and be a great addition to your CV.

What will I learn on this course?

,

The aim of this course is to help students understand how to use a computerised accounting package (SAGE) to enter bookkeeping transactions of a business, complete computerised journal entries, process wages and produce an invoice.

How to allocate Customer and Supplier Payments and Receipts

How to prepare, process and print a service invoice

How to process a bank account transfer

How to process returned/cancelled cheques

How to process journals including a Wages Journal

How to produce Aged debtor/creditor reports

How to prepare and produce Remittance advices and customer statements

Important note: If you completed your Level 1 before December 2017 using the old version of the SAGE software (version 19), you will need to attend a booster session to bring you up to date with the new software (version 24). Please mention this when you fill in your course approval application.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fast paced course, with classes twice a week.

Sutton College uses Sage 50 software to teach this course and an individual software licence is included in the course cost for the Level 1 course. If you studied the Level 1 course prior to September 2022 you will be charged extra for the software (£60) when enrolling on this course.

You will need a laptop with Microsoft Windows, that meets the minimum specification required for Sage 50 in order to practise at home: Please note that the SAGE 50 software licence does not work on a Macbook.

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This course is Level 2. To be able to enrol on the course you need to have passed Book-Keeping Level 2 and Computerised Accounts Level 1.

Courses at Level 2 or below may be free if you are in work, live in a London Borough and earn under £25,642.50 or are in receipt of a means tested benefit and looking for work. For further information please contact enrol@suttoncollege.ac.uk

Learners on Government funded courses must attend a minimum of 90% or may be withdrawn. Learners must also have the intention of taking the exam/assessment prescribed to their course. Withdrawal from a course and/or failure to take exams or submit assessments means you will be required to pay the full course cost.
