This is the ‘Next Step’ in your Digital Skills learning and development. You will build on your newly learnt computer skills, moving closer towards eventually gaining an accredited qualification in digital skills. (Your tutor will tell you more about this during the course). Editing documents, using a simple spreadsheet, selecting and changing images, are just some of the new skills that you will go onto develop. You will also become more confident in your own ability, and your online digital portfolioin your Google Classroom will track and display your digital skills development.

Purpose of Course 

Enter and edit text and format it appropriately, for example align paragraphs,
change font type, size and colour

Use bullet points and numbering

Insert pictures, shapes or symbols

Adjust page margins and orientation

Save, open and print documents

Use Google Meets, Zoom or Skype

Solving simple technical problems

Internet safety when using social media

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This is an Entry-level course and is for learners who have completed First Steps. You may allowed onto the course if you can demonstrate some basic digital skills.

How do I enrol?

To be considered for a place on this course, you are required to complete an online course Assessment to ensure this course is suitable for you. 

You can make an application by clicking on ‘APPLY’ at the bottom of this page. If you do not already have a Sutton College online account, you will need to create one first. On completion of your application, you will receive further information via email.
