Are you interested in a career in Counselling? Or do you have a job where you have to help people with their problems? This course is the ideal way to develop some basic counselling skills, which can be beneficial in work and everyday life. It can also be the first step on the path to becoming a trained counsellor.

What will I learn on this course?

,

You will learn about Active Listening, Using non-verbal communication/body language/eye contact/tone of voice, Open & Closed questions.

You will be introduced to the 3 Main Approaches to Counselling: Person Centered Traditions/ Psychodynamic/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

You will consider the impact of issues around difference in working with clients and explore the meaning of stereotyping/assumptions/working in a non-judgmental manner.

Important note: This course is unsuitable for learners currently in a state of severe emotional difficulty and/or severe psychological confusion, due to the experiential elements that will involve some personal disclosure and associated personal.

Do I need any skills for this course?

This course is a Level 1. You will need at least Entry 3 English skills to be able to understand the information given at the course.
