General Information

This Level 1 Creative Craft Floral Design course of study is ideal for anyone interested in building skills in floral design from the bottom up. It is for the hobbyist who wants to perfect the techniques of professional florists as well as those who are aiming to become industry professionals. Start on an exciting journey of personal discovery and growth to learn more about flowers and to use them to create works of art. Qualifying learners will be fully funded for this course. What will I learn on this course?

In this course you will develop basic practical skills, using a range of materials, in the planning, preparation, construction and presentation of simple floral designs.

You will learn to create freestanding traditional/contemporary arrangements and table décor as well as a host of techniques to take you to the next level.

This course is the stepping stone to higher and more complex floristry techniques and knowledge.

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

This is a Level 1 NCFE Course.

This course is suitable for complete beginners who are new to floristry. If you have not completed the entry levels 1, 2 and 3 Creative Craft courses in floral design, you may like to consider doing them first, however, you only need to be interested in floral design to start at this level.

You will need to have basic Maths and English and digital skills to complete the assignments.

To be considered for a place on this course, you are required to complete an online course Assessment to ensure this course is suitable for you.

Additional information

You will need a floristry tool kit containing the basic tools for floristry.

You have the option of purchasing a competitively priced tool kit through the college. Further information about this will be given to you once you have enrolled. Fully funded learners will be provided with a tool kit for the duration of the course.

The course will be held within the college, however, before the start of the course you will be invited to join a Google Classroom which is the tool that will be used to share information with you about the course, update you with important information etc.
