General Information

This simple woodworking project is a great introduction to some of the tools and techniques taught on the “Get into Woodwork!” course and you get to take home a handy stand for your tablet computer or a ledge style shelf to display a favourite book or picture.

What will I learn on this course?

You will gain hands-on experience of the materials, tools and techniques you will need to create a useful object from softwood.

Do I need any skills for this course?

This is a basic Woodwork course for students of all abilities, no prior experience required.

Additional information

Students may want to bring a pen and paper to the class to make notes.

What are the progression opportunities at the end of this course?

Take a further course at Sutton College such as the comprehensive “Get into Woodwork!” and learn about various tools and techniques for making things from wood.
