Family, friends and staff attended the annual achievements awards presentation evening on Tuesday (20 June) at Sutton College where students and College staff were recognised for their hard work and achievements.
Certificates and congratulations were handed out by the new Mayor of Sutton Jean Crossby who said the event was extremely inspiring and made her want to return to learning.
Attendees heard inspirational stories of students who had overcome obstacles and difficulties to thrive in their learning at the College, bringing motivation to their fellow classmates, sharing their passion and dedication. Those recognised had been nominated by their tutors or other staff or in the case of teaching staff, the students in their classes.
College Principal Jenny Sims said the event was ‘a superb evening, listening to inspiring stories about how people have enhanced their lives through learning’.
In addition to student awards, staff were recognised for their hard work and valued contributions towards the College and its development.
