Annual Art & Craft Exhibition

24 June 2014

SCOLA, Sutton College will be holding their annual End of year show at the end of June, showcasing the outstanding work from arts and crafts students throughout the year.

The exhibition, taking place in Sutton Library & also a gallery at SCOLA Sutton next door, shows work by students including the successful entrants for the V&A ‘Inspired By’ competition.

Art and craft work from both accredited (FE) & non accredited courses as well as students with Learning Difficulties & Disabilities will be displayed and all levels of work will be celebrated from beginners through to those with more experience.

Head of Department Angela Williams said ‘The work shown has been chosen by the students themselves and it is a great opportunity for them to showcase, celebrate and in some case sell their work’.

This year the exhibits will include various art works from drawing and painting and watercolour classes as well as ceramics, jewellery, stained glass and digital media. There will also be student work from SCOLA’s calligraphy, photography and floristry courses on show.

SCOLA, Sutton College quilters will also be proudly displaying their work and have traditionally raffled and donated their beautiful quilts for charity. This year the quilts will be donated to Age UK and are on display in the gallery at SCOLA.

The exhibition will run from Tuesday 24th June through to Thursday 3rd July at the Europa Gallery, Sutton library, with some pieces of work on display at the gallery in SCOLA Sutton, St Nicholas Way.
