General Information
Have you always wanted to learn how to code? Fancy making your own minicomputer, or create a robot that moves at your command? Well, all over the world, people use the Raspberry Pi to learn programming skills, build hardware projects, do home automation, so if this interests you then read on.
Learn how to code or build your skills in programming to gain a better understanding of how websites and apps are designed and developed.
You will learn new skills, be supported to pursue your interests or advance your career within the field of programming
With expert tuition from an industry professional, this is an excellent opportunity to receive teaching within a hands-on learning environment. You will be writing real code within a very short period. In three short words you will have the chance to Explore, Design, and Create your very own Raspberry Pi computer. You will also have your very own mini-computer that you can keep for FREE!
What will I learn on this course?
This is a 4-day industry professional led course, which will provide you with hands-on skills in a safe and supportive environment. Through workshops, collaborative learning activities, you will quickly develop the skills and knowledge of Raspberry Pi and the opportunities that this will lead you towards. Throughout the course, you will have access to a dedicated online forum or communication channel where they can ask questions, share their progress, and collaborate with tutor and peers. This will foster a sense of community and provide a platform for peer learning and support. Assessment for this course is through short practical elements with tutor feedback to aid development.

This course will cover:
The Raspberry Pi Operating System
The Raspberry Pi Desktop
Adding and using software on your Raspberry Pi
Everyday computing with your Raspberry Pi
Connecting more hardware – Camera kit
Getting started with coding
The Unix command line
Remote access and security
All of the course content will be available as soon as the course starts.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, you‘ll be able to:
Perform an installation of the Raspberry Pi operating system using the Raspberry Pi Imager
Modify your setup by connecting additional components like a Camera module and installing new software
Explain how your Raspberry Pi can be used for learning to program and getting started with physical computing
Apply your knowledge of basic system administration to take more control of your Raspberry Pi
Course Delivery
Throughout the course, Learners will have access to a dedicated Google Classroom, with link to dedicated stream as a dedicated online forum or communication channel where questions can be asked, progress shared, and further celebration of ideas. Overall, you will quickly become a part of an online community to support peer learning and individual support.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion from the college, recognizing their understanding of concepts and hands-on skills using Raspberry Pi.
What level is this course & what skills do I need.
This L2 course is aimed at people who have an interest in coding and want to develop skills through building their own mini Computer Raspberry Pi.
Some knowledge of using computers is useful. However most importantly is a desire to try something new for yourself. Be it for upskilling, looking for a new career inroad, or simply to support your own wellbeing, is just as important.
There are no formal education requirement for this course. Suitable for all abilities.
