Working with fabric and textiles is an incredibly rewarding experience. You will learn a range of techniques used to make garments, seams, fullness, fastenings, cuffs, pockets. What will I learn on this course?

Level 2 Award with NCFE

Learners will have the opportunity to learn and explore new skills and techniques in a friendly learning environment. 

You will learn how to produce samples of techniques in different fabric, gaining experience on how to treat different fabrics.

You will:

Make a garment

Explore design techniques

Be able to work safely and effectively using tools, equipment and materials.

Understand the characteristics of materials required to make a garment.

Be able to plan, prepare and sample materials.

What level is this course & what skills do I need?

Those who have Level 1 or previous knowledge and wish to extend their skills in this area of work.

Yes, prior knowledge or qualifications are required.

Learners must demonstrate a basic level of literacy and numeracy. The ability to read and understand written tasks, and carry out basic costing calculations is also necessary.

To be considered for a place on this course, you are required to complete an online course Assessment to ensure this course is suitable for you.

A4 folder & A4 punched pockets

30cm ruler

Sewing machines and swatch fabrics are provided
