To make clay objects in different ways: coiling, slab-building, pinching, moulding and throwing, and to learn to handle and use pottery tools, as well as decorate pots using a variety of techniques. You will develop an understanding of the pottery process and an awareness of health and safety in the pottery workshop.

The course is designed to cover a range of skills and methods as listed above. It's a hands-on class and sometimes messy! Also some sharp tools to be mindful of.As well as developing practical skills, we aim to develop mental and social wellbeing, and build confidence.

You will learn a variety of pottery skills, create your own pottery pieces, and take home your pieces at the end of the course.

None, other than the ability to understand verbal instructions

Additional information

Please bring an apron or an old shirt. Pottery can get messy. But it will wash off. A sketchbook is useful but not essential. Tools are provided but some students prefer to use their own.
