Immerse yourself in Production Throwing on the Potter’s wheel like a true professional Potter. 

Learn how to create high-quality ceramics in a professional and fun ceramic studio.

Acquire an advanced understanding of working on the potter’s wheel, exploring the full potential of clay.

What will I learn on this course?

In this course you will learn to:

Become an independent and confident potter

Improve your throwing and turning skills

To make high-quality one-off pieces on the potter’s wheel

How to be a precise and prolific maker

Aacquire a basic knowledge of ceramics decoration techniques: slips,underglazes and glazes.

Suitable for those with advanced throwing skills on the potter’s wheel

Additional information

Clay used will be charged at £2.50 per kilo before firing. Charges will be in multiples of 500gm therefore there will be a minimum charge of 500gm (£1.25).

The college does not fire clay purchased outside of the college; therefore, you should not bring in your own clay.

We make every attempt to purchase clay at the lowest prices for the best quality however we have no control over these costs and prices will be subject to market changes.

Please bring an apron, a small towel and your toolbox.

Beware that the use of clay and glaze materials may cause some irritation to sensitive skin.
