General Information

Are you starting to think about looking for a job? This course will help you understand how the current jobs market works, what skills employers are looking for and how to demonstrate you have those skills. You will build your confidence in how to search and apply for jobs and develop a better understanding of what you have to offer to an employer.

What will I learn on this course?

We will cover: 

CV: how to adapt your CV to meet the requirements of different roles

Cover Letter & Application Statement: how to identify your key skills and experience and sell yourself 

Interview skills: how to answer interview questions including competency based questions

Job Search: What to look for and where and how to make effective use of your time.

How to improve your skill set: volunteering and further training

On this course, you will develop the following life skills:

Mental Wellbeing 

English Skills 

Employability Skills 

Confidence building 

Please bring your CV with you

Do I need any skills for this course?

You do not need any qualifications to attend this course nor do you need any recent work experience. However you do need an everyday understanding of spoken and written English as there will be some writing involved and you will be expected to contribute to the class discussion.
