Yesterday saw the launch of the ‘Art Against Domestic Violence’ exhibition at Honeywood Museum in Carshalton. The inspiring pieces of art came from Art for Wellbeing sessions that were proudly run through Sutton College, led by tutor Anna Virabyan.
Throughout lockdown, Sutton College and Sutton Women’s Centre worked together to provide the online Art for Wellbeing courses to help women affected by domestic violence.
The sessions encouraged students to remained connected and motivated throughout lockdown.
Talented tutor Anna Virabyan, led the classes, enabling the women to explore their artistic skills, learning to express themselves and their feelings, creating beautiful pieces of art along the way. The pieces are now proudly displayed within the beautiful setting of Honeywood Museum.
The exhibition was officially opened by Sutton’s Mayor Trish Fivey and will run at Honeywood Museum from 11 November – 11 December, Thursday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Entry is free.
