English Language ESOL Students visit Library as part of their course
A class of Sutton College English Language ESOL Entry 3 students visited Sutton Library in their first term.
Situated next door to the College main site, Sutton Library was refurbished in 2018 and, along with the College, is a valuable local Council service. Learners thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are very thankful to members of staff both at the College and at the library for the opportunity. Fifteen learners out of nineteen are now members of the library which is wonderful as they will be able to access the range of services offered by the library.
The learners wrote up their feedback on their visit as part of their homework and extracts from their work can be found below.
‘I became a member because I think it is a good way to learn English. I recommend a visit to other classes in the College. The librarians were very friendly and helpful’.
‘I always went past the library but never had the courage to visit it’.
‘One of the library staff explained to us about all the things available in the library. It was really useful and helpful to learn better English. I would recommend other students and other families to visit Sutton library’.
