New College Principal for 2024

2 January 2024

Tom Dillon commences his role as Principal at Sutton College today. He joins the College from his role as Principal at the Learning and Enterprise College in Bexley where he was in post for two years.

Prior to his role at Bexley, Tom held the role of Vice Principal here at Sutton College and so brings years of experience and knowledge to the position.

Ready to take on new challenges at Sutton, Tom said he is ‘very excited to be leading this community college through the next phase of its journey including the move to the new site in 2026. The College is a real asset to the local community and the students that it serves are one of the key reasons that I applied for the role. Knowing the College, staff and students at Sutton College, I am confident that we will succeed in continuing to ensure students receive the best possible teaching and learning to reach their goals and full potential.’

Tom has worked in Education for the past 17 years, in a wide range of different colleges including 6th forms and Adult Education and has held several roles, including curriculum management and senior management roles. He will be responsible for the strategic vision of the College, working closely with colleagues at Sutton Council to ensure the College offer meets the needs of residents, employers, and community.
