Welcome to new Principal Dipa Ganguli
Dipa Ganguli joins as the new Principal of Sutton College this month following the retirement of the previous Principal, Jenny Sims.
Dipa has been in the Adult Education Sector for 22 years, with the last three years as the Assistant Principal of Westminster Adult Education Service.
She has a long association with Sutton College, she did her PGCE here in collaboration with Canterbury Christchurch University nine years ago and was a part-time tutor of Maths at the Sutton College’s Wallington Centre. During the final year of the course, Jenny Sims was her mentor.
Dipa has extensive experience of Adult Education having represented the sector at numerous national boards and meetings hosted by the main funding body, the Education and Skills Funding Agency. She is also a Policy Group member of HOLEX, the lead body for Adult Community Education and Learning representing over 120 adult and community learning providers.
She lives locally in Purley and has three children, two of whom went to a high school in Sutton.
Dipa brings a huge amount of experience, skills and versatility to the role. She said ‘I am looking forward to working with staff, partners and students at the College. Sutton College is a well renowned leader in the Adult Education sector and it will continue to develop and grow in the future.
We recognise the need to always lookout for new developments and be flexible enough to offer opportunities to the local communities we serve, because if Plan A doesn’t work, there are always 25 other letters to go through!’
